Thumb-under technique
Numbering of the fingers of the right hand
The fingers of the right hand are numbered from 1 to 4, with the index finger being number 1 through to the little finger being number 4. The thumb has no number and is referred to as the thumb.
Look at Figure 6, below. You will see that we have indicated the fingering you will need to use underneath each note. We have allocated a number for each finger and ‘T’ for your thumb, as follows: ‘T’ for thumb, ‘1 for first finger (index), ‘2’ for second finger, ‘3’ for third finger and ‘4’ for fourth finger (little finger).
