Fingering the G major scale
To play the G major scale correctly it is necessary to consider the fingering and learn a new technique.
Firstly, there is now a total of eight notes in the G major scale. As we have eight notes to play, but only five digits, we need to learn a new technique – called the ‘thumb-under technique’.
